State to give away 4+ tons of elk meat

GREEN RIVER -- Here's your chance to bag a little of that Wyoming game without having to wear orange.

On April 12, the Wyoming Game and Fish Department will give away nearly 9,000 pounds of elk meat processed as part of the agency's recent brucellosis test-and-slaughter program. The program is a five-year pilot project that aims to lower brucellosis rates in the Pinedale elk herd.

Sure would suck to be wasting it wouldn't it? Probably because it is a State funded program, they are unable to sell it for some bureucratic reason...smile!
